About 10 years ago we started (Bangladesh) started importing panel door from overseas, look great, the thickness is 36 mm, polishing is beautiful, was selling like a hot cake at the price of $300.00/ door.
Now after 10 years, they are trying to sell the same door for $75.00, but few people are buying it by mistake. The market of the foreign door is going down every day due to their lack of knowledge in the door structural engineering, or the machine manufacturers are not aware of that.
Making a door using a dowel pin is not suitable in certain places of furniture manufacturing. It stays inside of the wood

Dowel pin stays hidden and gives a beautiful outlook to our furniture, where strength is less important than beauty. When we are joining two planks together to make a wider plank with the support of a pocket cutter and quality wood glue, where the screw in the pocket cutter stays hidden at the button part or the hidden part of the furniture.
Door making is a different story, the dowel pin technique is a wrong idea for door manufacturing. If we could use pocket cutter along with dowel pin, it would have been great and strong. Can’t do it, the screw and the pocket cutter will expose and distort the beauty of a beautiful door.
Door manufacturers are using dowel pin to manufacture doors, but they will fall apart after a few slams, storm bang and children hanging on the door will make the door sag and all the join will be displaced, and in due time will fall apart.
In a country like Bangladesh, India, Burma, Nepal, Bhutan and so on where the moisture in the air changes so rapidly where the strength of the wood glue doesn’t stand. Due to the massive variation of moisture content, make the wood expand and shrink rapidly.
This is a big mistake for the manufacturer to export panel wooden doors using dowel pin and glue, without knowing the weather condition of the country, where they may lose their business permanently.
Countries, where deviation in moisture content doesn’t take place drastically, may stand in that situation.
Overall it’s not good for the manufacturer to manufacture, panel wooden door using dowel pin and wood glue in door manufacturing, it may cause them lose their business permanently, also the consumers should be ware of before they purchase the door.
